Disaster Recovery

The primary datacentre is highly secure and is equipped with multiple fail-safe mechanisms. Should a disaster strike, however, DataVisibility can offer a robust disaster recovery (DR) service. The client risk analysis showed that the risks fall into two clear categories.

• Infrastructure risks
• Commercial risks

The DR service covers both of these.

The DR datacentre is located 60 miles, as the crow flies, from the primary site. It is located in a former nuclear bunker, the infrastructure is completely separate from the primary site and procured from different suppliers.

The infrastructure is owned and managed by a separate company on behalf of DataVisibility. Provided that the clients has a valid escrow arrangement in place (a mandatory part of the DR service), that company can step in and provide a system with a maximum loss of one day’s data and availability.
