About Us

The DataVisibility brand was created at the end of 2000. The vision was to provide software tools that collected, processed and managed data in such a way that the information contained within was made visible and accessible to the users. It recognised that scale, when combined with complexity, frequently created an environment which led to information confusion rather than clarity. DataVisibility aims to address these issues.

The business started with
Imprest, the leading Capital Programme Management system and innovative "walk and work" applications for building surveyors. This capitalised on the work previously carried out by Gordon Hunt whilst at Solution Initiatives and Wayne Howatt at Dearle & Henderson Scotland. These applications benefited significantly by being designed "for professionals, by professionals".
The evolution of Imprest started in the mid-1990's, when Gordon developed the embryonic system, initially called Mermaid, for the University of Birmingham.

Following substantial investment, the applications have evolved into the robust, commercially attractive solutions designed, developed and sold by DataVisibility Ltd.
