PRINCE2 is the de facto standard structured project method used within UK government, where it originated. Increasingly it is being used in the private sector and internationally. Imprest supports PRINCE2 and variants of this methodology in a number of ways. Clients can define templates of the documentation they need or configure those already in existence. They can structure their projects in line with best practice guidelines and they can monitor project outputs and outcomes against key objectives.

Imprest comes into its own when a number of projects are being managed as part of a programme or portfolio. It then allows managers a helicopter view across the multiple projects following the methodology. The common methodology, which may or may not be PRINCE2, together with Imprest, is a powerful combination delivering benefits in the areas of:
