LTP3 is now well under way and there are significant differences from LTP2. Not least of these being the knock-on effect of the current economic climate on future funding. Whilst transport remains vital for our economic well being, we are now faced with delivering programmes which may or may not have shrunk, with less resources, over a period of years.

This pressure can be a positive driver for innovative thinking and creativity but it also means that the efficient control of schemes (and critically the LTP3 programme as a whole) is essential to maximise the return on limited funding. The real danger is that if an Authority cannot credibly demonstrate that it is delivering, then essential funding will disappear in future years.

We believe that we have a major part of the solution. Imprest is proven to deliver in an LTP2 environment and DataVisibility has been (and is) working hard with our customers to make sure that it meets the needs of LTP3. It has received Government Innovation funding specifically to support transportation programmes.

As an organisation, we provide the full spectrum of services to help you to get the system up and running and our transport experience is a critical success factor. The bit that we can't provide is your part of the solution! This is why we believe that a successful implementation is the result of working in partnership with our clients.

The focus of the LTP3 Imprest system is in the following areas:

• Good practice in the management of schemes within the LTP3 programme, including planning of schemes, projected budget and timescales, and risk management.
• Funding management detailing how funding is being used to deliver transport objectives, as well as alternative sources of funding.
• Configurable workflow to support and develop governance arrangements for project management and reporting.
• Performance monitoring of LTP3 goals such as Tackling Climate Change and Supporting Economic Growth.
• Tools such as an integral extranet to enable collaborative working.
